Oregon House Lifts Ban On Religious Attire

Feb 10th 2010
House Bill 3686 passed the Oregon house 51-8 four Republicans and four Democrats opposed the bill. It now goes to Oregon Senate for their vote. This would lift the ban on teachers wearing and working in religious clothing at school.Oregon is only one of three states that ban religious clothing. Oregon's ban, was enacted in 1923, it was originally designed to ban Catholic nuns from teaching in public schools. If approved, the Oregon law would take effect in 2011.Christian ,Muslims ,and anyone of faith should find this liberating at least. For so long we have been held back and shut up all because we believe in a higher power and a greater being. Regardless of personal religion , we should all rejoice. Finally we are moving in the right direction.I have been selling bumper sticker for a long time that read " as long as there are tests in school, there will be prayer in schools" I will finish on that note.
