October Employment Situation At A Glance

The numbers have not changed since September. The rate remains at 12.3 million people unemployed or 7.9%. Unemployment for African-Americans rose to 14.3% while teens are still at 23.7% and Hispanics and Caucasians showed no increase nor decrease in numbers 10% and 7% retrospectively. There are 8.3 million involuntary part time workers, and 2.4 million workers gave up looking or have not looked during the past 4 weeks for a job.
