Warming station will be open for those without electricity:
With outages still affecting more than 10,000 Pacific Power customers, the Josephine County government is working with the American Red Cross to provide a “warming station” at the Fairgrounds in southwest Grants Pass off of Redwood Highway.
Interim Fairgrounds Manager Mary Groves said the Arts Building is open for people who need a place to warm up, feel safe and enjoy a hot beverage.
In a news release, Pacific Power reported heavy, wet snow caused dozens of trees and power lines to fall, resulting in extensive damage to equipment. The communities most affected by these outages are in Josephine and Jackson counties.
"Also, Josephine County Search and Rescue is providing transportation to elderly citizens who are without power or heat to an evacuation center. "
