Northwest Elections


Well we all know who is our new President , but who won the Senate and Governor seats up for grabs .Oregon got a crushing defeat when Smith lost to Merkley 46% to 49 % and five percent going to Brownlow . The residents of Oregon have to wait until 2010 to vote for a new ,and hopefully Republican Governor (maybe SMITH?) . The House got 4 Democrats for House seat 1,3,4,and5 and only one Republican Ron Wyden in District 2. How is Oregon voting Democrat counties are Lane ,Lincoln ,Benton ,Clatsop ,Columbia, Washington,Multnomah ,and Hood River County. The Republican Counties make up the majority , Josephine ,Jackson, Curry,Klamath, Lake,Harney,Malheur,Douglas ,Coos ,Deschutes ,Crook, Jefferson,Linn ,Marion,Polk, Yamhill,Tillamook Clackamas,Wasco, Sherman, Wheeler, Gilliam, Morrow,Umatilla,Union, Wallawa, Grant ,Baker, Even though we Republicans have the majority of the State we do not have the majority of voters. We Republicans need to stand up and let our voices be heard .

Washington state Republicans also got a crushing defeat when Dino Rossi lost to Democrat candidate Christine Gregoire by 53% to 47% and the House District 1 did not get Republican Larry Ishmael he was defeated by Jay Inslee by a whopping 68% to 32% and the Republicans lost House District 2 62% to 38% when Rick Larsen defeated Republican Rick Bart . District 3 went to Democratic candidate Brian Baird 64% to 36% when Michael Delavar of the GOP lost . District 4 Republican Doc Hastings defeated Democratic candidate George Fearing 63% to 37% . District 5 Republican Cathy Rodgers defeated Democrat Mark Mays 65% to 35%. District 6 Democrat Norm Dicks defeated Republican Doug Cloud 67% to 33%. District 7 went to Democrat Jim Mcdermott 84% to 16% over Republican Steve Beren. House District 8 went to Republican Dave Reichert 52% to 48% over Democrat Darcy Burner. House District 9 went to Democrat Adam Smith by 66% over 34% by James Postma of the GOP.

Idaho State
Senate seat went to Republican Jim Risch who defeated Democrat Larry LaRocco 58% to 34%
there was no gubernatorial race and the House seat 1 went to Walt Minnick Democrat who defeated Republican Bill Sali by a slim 51% to 49% and seat 2 went to Republican Mike Simpson who won by a whopping 71% to Democratic candidate Deborah Holmes 29% .
