Josephine County Commissioner, Position 1 Mark Gatlin

MARK S. GATLIN
OCCUPATION: Grants Pass
City Councilor.
OCCUPATIONAL BACKGROUND:
Business owner, Hotel
Manager.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
Huntington Beach High,
Orange Coast College, Long
Beach City College and
Rogue Community College.
GOVERNMENTAL EXPERIENCE: Grants Pass City
Councilman, City Council Liaison to Tourism Advisory,
Bikeways and Walkways Committee, Rogue Valley
Metropolitan Planning Organization.
I have been a volunteer Grants Pass City Councilor for the
past 2 years and in that time I had to study and approve all
aspects of the Cities business including the budget. Our city
has come a long way towards transparency and
accountability and I am proud of the accomplishments this
board has achieved. This does show that a board that works
together can get things done.
In my capacity as a city councilor and as a board member
for a variety of non-profits in the county, I have worked with
the finest people I’ve known who truly care about their
neighbors and doing a job well above reproach.
I have or am serving as a volunteer on many county
committees including Our Foster Kids, City Councilman
for the City of Grants Pass, Rogue Valley Metropolitan
Planning Organization, Tourism Advisory Board and
Bikeways and Walkways Committee, Court Appointed
Special Advocate, Concerned Father's against Crime,
Lottery Local Control Act, Citizens Securing Our Safety.
I have dedicated the past few years working on an answer
to our Public Safety dilemma. I am dedicated to serving
the county and have proven so by my service as a
volunteer. I support mineral mining in Josephine County.
Mining will supply us with cash flow which would offset
any taxes needed, such as our forest did in the past. I
support the 2nd amendment and all community
committees for the betterment of Josephine County.
My commitment to you is to work directly with the other
board members to improve county government.
I would appreciate your vote.
