Well the 2009-2011 Oregon Budget came out and needs serious reconsidering . The tens of thousands of seniors in Oregon are looking at a grim few years as the services that most depend on are being chopped or eliminated . In home care will be cut for about 6,500 seniors and disabled individuals as well as 100,000 adults and seniors among them disabled will lose their much needed vision and dental benefits . There are cuts to mental health affecting over three thousand low income individuals . Low income parents that rely on child care help will just have to quite working and go on welfare .The cuts are unremitting , right as Governor Kulongoski is estimated to raise 2 billion taxing hospitals health care providers and cigarettes and raising fees at the DMV and at gas stations ,and while giving large corporations tax breaks . Ted Kulongoski is quoted as saying that "We must invest in the future even if that means making painful dis- investments in the present."What does that mean to the disabled and seniors it means that Ted would rather stretch the money around just like Obama . Kulongoski is planning on frivolously spending the billions on the future and electric cars, in the mean while forgetting about the sick and disabled . The seniors ,and disabled in Oregon always seem to get the short end of the stick . I can't wait until we can vote in a new Governor . This situation is pathetic and irresponsible and we can not afford to make costly mistakes that endanger lives of these people they are Mothers ,Fathers ,Grandparents even Great Grandparents they are human and deserving of the uppermost respect and honor. I urge all the residents of the Northwest to write their Representatives and make sure we care for those less fortunate first.
